Walter Mitty as a Commander of the Navy Hydroplane
While I was driving somewhere with my wife, I imagined myself being the commander of a Navy Hydroplane...
.
.
"WE ARE GOING THROUGH!"
.
.
I shouted firmly. I am the commander of a eight-engined Navy hydroplane, with a great responsibility and leadership. On a day of our training, we met a huge hurricane that all the crew members were hesitant to go through. Lieutenant Berg told me that we can't make it. However, I insisted on going. The decision did not come just come from the openness to risk-taking situation, but it came from the logical calculation that I had for the past ten minutes. Although I was not fully certain, I firmly ordered directions to the crews to encourage them and relieve their worries.
.
.
"Throw on the power lights! Switch on No.8 auxiliary!"
.
.
Everyone exactly followed my direction, and we had make it!
The young crews looked at me with awe and respect for what I have done, and I grinned with happiness.
.
.
Out of the great accomplishment of the day, my wife shouted, "“Not so fast! You’re driving too fast!” said Mrs. Mitty. “What are you driving so fast for?”

Walter Mitty as a Surgeon
I was driving past the hospital on my way to the parking lot when I imagined myself being a great surgeon at a large hospital....
.
.
.
I am Dr.Mitty. I usually take a lot of surgery, but this time was a big one. One of my VIP patients, the millionaire banker came in with a severe condition, and I had to take a look at him. I hurried to the operating room, where I found my colleagues, Dr.Remington and Mr. Pritchard-Mitford. Pritchard-Mitford complemented on my book about streptothricosis, which I have researched for more than 10 years. After a short conversation, we started the operation. The intern cried that "The new anesthetizer is giving way", which no one did not know how to fix. With a long experience of work and research, I was the only one that could fix the problem. Even Dr. Renshaw gave up with the great confusion in his face, and asked me to take over.
.
.
I willingly said "If you wish", while adjusting my mask and drawing on thin gloves.
.
.
The parking lot attendant shouted at me and said, "Wrong lane, Mac". People sometimes think that they know everything, which I find it cocky.

Walter Mitty as a Crack Shot
I was wondering what my wife had told me to get besides the shoes.Kleenex, I thought, Squibb’s, razor blades? No. Toothpaste, toothbrush, bicarbonate, carborundum, initiative and referendum? Instead of remembering the items I had to get, I heard the newsboy shouting something about the Waterbury trial....
.
.
.
I am a crack shot being interrogated at a courtroom by the District Attorney and the Judge. I am accused as a defendant of the murder case, which I wouldn't comment about the real truth of the case. Anyway, the District Attorney was seriously investigating me with my "Webley-Vickers 50. 80" as an evidence. But I was confident for the objection. I was wearing a sling on my right arm!
.
.
"But what if I have killed Gregory Fitzhurst at three hundred feet with my LEFT HAND?!"
.
.
As I finished my comment, "a woman's scream rose above the bedlam". The courtroom was in a total pandemonium, but I left them enjoy the confusion.
.
.
Then something came into my thought: "Puppy biscuit"!

Walter Mitty as a British Pilot

.
.
.
I am Captain Mitty, who is willing to sacrifice my life for the country.
As I heard the sergeant reporting me that the cannonading has got the wind up in the young Raleigh, I decided to take the flight alone. Yes, I realize that it is a dangerous decision. The pilots usually go in groups, preparing for the possible cases that might occur during the fight. Defeating the strongly armed enemies is neither an easy task. Knowing this, the sergeant worried about me handling the situation alone, but I was not afraid.
.
.
"WE ONLY LIVE ONCE" and the most important thing in my life is to save my country than myself.
.
.
The pounding of the cannon increased, and I had to leave to fight for my army, and my country.
.
.
I've heard Mrs. Mitty saying, "I've been looking all over this hotel for you", and I was no longer Captain Mitty.

Who is Walter Mitty?
WALTER MITTY is nothing special; Inept at many things, even in simple mechanical tasks.
He can't drive well and he can't remember things well.
For his failings, he gets bossed around and laughed at by his wife and people around him.
However, he has his own "secret life" where he turns into a great man and a hero...
In his imagination, Mitty becomes a commander of the Navy Hydroplane, a famous surgeon who saves the life of his "millionaire banker" patient, a bold crack shot, a heroic British pilot, and a brave man being shot by the firing squad. Here, he is able to do anything that he desires to do.
The goal of Mitty's "secret life" is to be a masculine, brave, intelligent, and heroic man who is completely different from the REAL Walter Mitty.
Full of dissatisfaction and incapabilities in reality, Mitty not only finds a way to escape from the mundane life, but sets up his identity as a great man.
